<p>Even though type 1 is not considered hereditary, if someone in your family has it, you may have a genetic predisposition for the condition. You will not necessarily develop type 1 diabetes include even if your father has this condition. Still though, it does happen from time to time. Discuss any family history of Type 1 diabetes with your doctor so they can suggest ways for you to avoid it. While you can&#8217;t really fight genetics, it can&#8217;t hurt to stay as healthy as possible.</p>

<p>There is no special rules to follow to control diabetes. Dieticians say that Diabetes can be kept under control by setting some personal rules to your intake of food. That means taking food in small amount at regular intervals of time. This way one can control the intake of food at a time which may lead to obesity .In order to maintain the sugar levels the medical practitioners always stress on taking the food on time everyday. The food should not have high nutritious value. The food should contain good fiber and easy to digest.</p>
<p>There are many symptoms which gives hint that person is suffering from diabetes. Frequent skin infections e.g. boils, tiredness, passing of too much amounts of urine, skin complaint ,excessive thirst and weakness all these gives the thought that the person might be diabetic and times has come to have diet controlled diabetes.</p>
<p>In order to keep one fit and free of diseases it is better to take healthy food. Children should be encouraged by parents to eat healthy food to keep away from obesity. A healthy intake of food and regular exercise is always a better idea to keep oneself fit always. Once a person gets affected with diabetes it is very important that he keeps in mind what he eats . Diabetes affects people of all ages, both genders, from all walks of life and backgrounds. Untreated, it can cause wounds to heal slowly, infections take longer to cure, blindness, and kidney failure. Diet is one of the important ways of controlling diabetes, and a vegetarian lifestyle with its emphasis on low fat, high fiber, and nutrient-rich foods is very complementary.</p>
<p>Affecting more than 30 million people worldwide, this disease inhibits the body from properly processing foods. Usually, most of the food we eat is digested and converted to glucose, a sugar which is carried by the blood to all cells in the body and used for energy.</p>
<p>The hormone insulin then helps glucose pass into cells. But diabetics aren&#8217;t able to control the quantity of glucose in their blood because the mechanism which converts sugar to energy doesn&#8217;t work correctly. Insulin is either absent, present in insufficient quantities or ineffective. As a result glucose builds up in the bloodstream and leads to problems such as weakness, inability to concentrate, loss of co-ordination and blurred vision.</p>
<p>If the correct balance of food intake and insulin is not maintained, a diabetic can also experience blood sugar levels that are too low. If this state continues for a prolonged period of time, it can lead to coma and even death.</p>
<p>Though incurable, diabetes can be successfully controlled through dieting and exercise, medications, injections of insulin, or a combination. Instead of counting calories diabetics must calculate their total carbohydrate intake so that no less than half their food is made up of complex carbohydrates. Many diabetic vegetarians have discovered that as a result of their meatless diet, they have had to use insulin injections less, which gives them a feeling of power and control over their disease.</p>
